The Kurdish Language Department at the College of Languages of NU, with the cooperation of Mesopotamia Foundation (from Turkish Kurdistan) held a symposium at Nawroz Hall.
The symposium was on how to standardize Kurdish language, and the role of Kurmanji in this process.
In this symposium, Prof. Dr. Abdulwahab Khalid Mosa, the President of NU, and Dr. Mikael Bulbul from Mesopotamia Foundation in Diyarbakir, put up some research for discussion. They discussed how to choose a standard Kurdish language, the role of Kurmanji in this process, and the difficulties that rise from the planning process of setting a unified standard Kurdish language.
At the end of the symposium, which was attended by professors and academics from the University of Duhok and the University of Zahko , the door for discussion was opened to the attendees, who enriched the symposium with their opinions and suggestions.
It is worth mentioning that the symposium was moderated by Dr. Mohammedali Yaseen from the University of Lisbon.
