Asst. Prof. Dr. Mevan Arif Abdulrahman, President of Nawroz University, participated on Tuesday, December 10, 2025, in a high-level panel discussion held in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, as part of the TESOL Kurdistan International Conference 2025.
The panel was titled:
“The Role of University Leadership in Shaping the Future of English Language Education in the Kurdistan Region.”
It brought together the presidents of Nawroz University, the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr, and the University of Garmian, and was moderated by Dr. Bakhtiyar Sajjadi.
During the session, the President of Nawroz University participated as a panelist, outlining the university’s strategic vision and its role in advancing English language education. He highlighted current and future academic plans, particularly in light of rapid technological developments and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on academic and educational environments.
The event was organized by Vision Education in collaboration with TESOL Kurdistan, and hosted by the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), as part of an international conference that brought together academic leaders and education experts from within the Kurdistan Region and beyond.
Nawroz University’s participation in this event reflects its continued commitment to academic openness, strengthening international partnerships, and contributing to the development of English language education and the overall quality of higher education in the Kurdistan Region.
