Nawroz University Participates in a Seminar on Educational Effectiveness and Accreditation Strategies

Asst. Prof. Dr. Mevan Arif Abdulrahman, President of Nawroz University, together with Prof. Dr. Muayad Aghaly Mirza, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, participated in a seminar entitled “Educational Effectiveness: From Outcomes to Impact,” held on Sunday, 23 November 2025, at the University of Duhok. The seminar was organized by the Kurdistan Accreditation Agency for Education (KAAE) in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The seminar was led by Dr. Honer Issa, Secretary-General of KAAE, who presented an in-depth discussion on contemporary frameworks for enhancing the quality of academic programs and aligning them with labor market needs. His presentation emphasized the importance of redesigning curricula, integrating practical skills, and establishing outcome-based standards as key requirements for academic accreditation in higher education institutions.
During his address, Dr. Honer Issa highlighted Nawroz University among a select group of institutions chosen to participate in the accreditation initiative launched by KAAE, noting that the university has taken significant and tangible steps toward meeting accreditation standards. He affirmed that this milestone reflects Nawroz University’s growing commitment to quality assurance, institutional development, and building academic programs that respond to both international standards and the demands of the regional labor market.
The seminar brought together university leaders, deans, department heads, and faculty members from various higher education institutions across the Duhok Governorate. The discussions centered on mechanisms for improving learning outcomes, enhancing program effectiveness, strengthening university–industry relations, and promoting a culture of quality within the higher education system in the Kurdistan Region.
By taking part in this event, Nawroz University reiterates its dedication to advancing academic quality, fulfilling accreditation requirements at both institutional and program levels, and expanding collaborative efforts with universities and educational organizations to contribute to the continuous development of higher education in the Kurdistan Region.
